Requirements and product-decision work is currently happening on this project — epics with data models, acceptance criteria, and Product knowledge docs exist — but ownership of that work is fragmented.
Engineers are sometimes the ones raising and closing the gap themselves on core business questions (e.g., SLA/escalation logic, multi-approver rules) that should be owned by a BA, and several open product decisions have sat unresolved for months. This role exists to give that work a single, accountable owner across the full lifecycle — from client requirements to engineering-ready specs — and to actually close the backlog of open decisions rather than let them accumulate.
Responsibilities:
1. Requirements & Discovery:
- Lead requirements elicitation directly with client/business stakeholders — workshops, interviews, and ongoing clarification cycles
- Orient withing existent functionality, ensuring what’s being built maps clearly back to contracted scope (flagging scope drift early)
- Translate ambiguous business needs into unambiguous, testable requirements
2. Specification & Backlog Ownership:
- Author and maintain epics with full specification depth: business goals, data models, API/business-logic requirements, UI requirements, and MVP-vs-future-phase scoping
- Write user stories and acceptance criteria that engineers can build without repeated round-trips for clarification
- Own and groom the backlog — prioritization, sequencing, and dependency mapping across modules (policy, billing/GL, claims, workflow/approval engine, etc.)
3. Decision-Making & Unblocking:
- Own resolution of open business/product questions end-to-end
- Actively clear the existing backlog of unresolved open items
4. Stakeholder & Cross-Team Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the engineering team for requirements-related questions
- Communicate scope, risk, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain documentation as decisions are made
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience on software delivery projects, including direct client-facing requirements work
- Ability to write specification-grade epics and user stories (data models, acceptance criteria, API/business-logic detail)
- Ability to drive ambiguous or stalled decisions to closure
- Strong written communication — specs, decision logs, etc.
- Comfortable working directly with stakeholders and engineers
Insurance or InsurTech domain experience (policy lifecycle, endorsements, billing/GL, claims, regulatory/compliance context) Experience working on systems with workflow/approval-engine logic (role-based and user-based assignment, escalation, multi-step approval)
Manage day-to-day mechanics of how a feature should behave, edge-case handling, workflow rules — is this role’s to decide and move forward
We offer:

- Paid sick leaves (10 business days)
- Non-paid days-off (10 business days)
